To help you search for the materials you need, you can check our OPAC stations, located at every section of the library. Our Open-Shelves policy in the General Stacks, Reserve, Reference and Filipiniana Section, gives you the option to freely browse our collection. All titles are reflected in the Integrated Library System or iLib. The College of Science library has its' own special collection of theses and dissertations, journal articles published in the Philippines, technical reports, and newspaper clippings indexed in our in-house database called ABCD. All other collection such as electronic books and journals are searchable in the UP Main library website at www.mainlib.upd.edu.ph.
The Reserve/Circulation Collection
The library maintains an extensive collection of books to support learning, teaching and research in the fields of natural and applied sciences. These sections are conveniently located at the ground floor level of the building, where users can freely browse the materials with open-shelves arrangements.
The Reference Collection
The materials are intended for quick consultation rather than for consultation like encyclopedias, handbooks, guidebooks, manuals, etc., and can be use for "Room-Use only". The reference desk is available for any queries and assistance one may need to know.
The second floor houses this collection together with the special collection section.
The Special Collection
The library maintains its' collection of theses and dissertations, Filipiniana books and journals, and newspaper clippings. For access and retrieval, the library provides an in-house database called ABCD.
